APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

GUNSTOCK OIL:

Rub on thin coats of oil with an old cotton T-shirt, or natural fiber cloth until the wood is saturated with oil. Build up 2-3 coats or more as desired. It is not necessary to sand between coats, however, wet sanding between coats can provide a smoother, shinier finish. Only apply as much oil as will absorb in a day. Wipe off all excess oil before adding the next coat. You can apply the oils over several days without worry of it drying to quickly. We don't add driers, so the oils will continue to penetrate and help preserve the wood for years to come. After your desired last coat, be sure to buff off any excess oil and let air dry for a few days or so. You can then top coat with our Gunstock Wax if desired for more sheen and water proofing.

GUNSTOCK WAX:

Rub or buff in thin coats of Gunstock Wax with an old cotton T-shirt, or natural fiber cloth or power hand buffer until the wood is saturated with the product. Build up 1-2 coats or more as desired. It is not necessary to sand between coats, however, wet sanding between coats can provide a smoother, shinier finish. Only apply as much wax as will absorb in a day. Wipe off all excess wax before adding the next coat. You can apply the wax over several days without worry of it drying to quickly. We don't add driers, so the oils will continue to penetrate and help preserve the wood for years to come. All oils and wax will take 3-4 weeks for it's final curing and hardness. The finish resists water and is easy to touch up over the years as needed. Simply rub in more Gunstock Oil or Wax. This is a superb long term maintenance program to preserve and enhance your antique rifle or for a future antique.
